A rule of thumb in fashion is your shoes should match your bag, but Christian Louboutin believes that the nails must also match. The release of a line of nail polish high end Louboutin has come full circle from the humble beginnings of his signature red soles.
The story goes that the designer believes one of his first prototypes needed extra oomph, making up a bottle of red lacquer table wizard and painted the sole of the shoe. Just then, a brand Louboutin was born and never looked back – until now. Louboutin fans can now paint your nails the same color as the soles of their shoes with a bottle of “Rouge Louboutin.” Each glass bottle 16 facets up to the reputation of luxury brand with a top-8-inch needle as featuring a red bottom, as his muse.
The tip cap is the same height as the ballerina Ultima, which is the highest brand shoe and the result of collaboration with director David Lynch (Lynch made a short film on the enamel which can be seen here). Each piece can take up to 22 weeks to make and is packed in a container crafted patent leather, which makes it look more like home decor luxury cosmetic.
