The advertising campaign featuring Jeff Bridges and Amber Valletta. The entire collection of Marc O’Polo spring / summer 2014 is impressive, modern and classy and also owns his choice. Finding a suitable female counterpart for robust poster boy Marc O’Polo three seasons – Jeff Bridges – has not been so easy.
However, the lifestyle brand seems to have closed the gap between men and women in the autumn-winter ’14-’15 campaign, starring Uma Thurman as a female equivalent of Bridges. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the new campaign “Follow nature” finds the two stars looking somehow related and individual portraits marked by a similar palette, the same setting. The company said Thurman was a perfect fit for the brand, given its German-Swedish roots, among other things.
Thurman’s mother, Nena von Schlebrügge, was a top model in the fifties and sixties, and his Swedish grandmother, the wife of a German baron, was a model as well. The father of actress, American professor Robert Thurman was the first American to become a Buddhist monk in Tibet – more than living up to “Follow nature” slogan Marc O’Polo.
The campaign will be launched on August 4. Marc O’Polo was founded in Stockholm 47 years ago, but now has its headquarters in Germany, delivery to a distribution network that includes 107 own shops and 155 franchise stores, shop-in-shops 1 170 and 1 295 multibrand stores in 30 countries.
